Books about our Church and Ludlow
In Ludlow we are fortunate to have the expertise of
local historians who have written excellent booklets on our town and
Church. They include:
- The Historic Church Guide
- Illustrated copy of the fine Misericords in St
Laurence's Church
- The Organ and Organists of St Laurence's Church
(depicting details of our historic Snetzler organ), also a cassette of
the organ music
- Illustrated booklets on Ludlow entitled Historic
Ludlow, Ludlow in Pictures, The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow Houses, The
Great House, and Broad Street
All these publications were produced by a locally
connected company. They are of top quality, with prices ranging from
£1.50 to £7.95 and are a worthwhile record and keepsake of
Ludlow.
Other books include
- The Poetry of A E Housman (also two postcards
relating to him)
- Ludlow Geology
- Century of Change - a nostalgic look at education at
Ludlow Grammar School and beyond
- A recently-published book, by David Lloyd,
commemorating the 500th Anniversary of the Death of Prince Arthur,
whose heart was buried in St Laurence's. Postcards are also available.
- The Concise History of Ludlow by David Lloyd
- Images of England; Ludlow, the Second Selection,
written by David Lloyd and Gareth Thomas.
- Latin Epitaphs, a fascinating, recently published
book
- History of Clungunford, another very interesting and
newly published book
- In 2001 we successfully reproduced, by photocopy, the
book Ludlow Stained and Painted Glass by Edwin Ganderton and Jean
Lafond, which has proved very popular
