2nd October 2010 - A Date for your diary
The PCC is supporting a Fund Raising Event which is a little unusual and the members need your help and support. The event is called The Cow Pat Game and over the next few months you will see this logo on raffle tickets, posters and articles in The Tower.
Why do the PCC members need your help and support? Because together we hope to sell the tickets far and wide, without you the game cannot work. PCC members will have books of tickets and will be hoping to encourage you to take a book or two to sell to your friends and family. The sale of raffle tickets will be launched over the May Bank Holiday weekend in church.
This gives us just over 4 months to sell as many tickets as possible raising as much money for the church as we can. We hope that if you have people coming to stay during the summer, or if you go to visit friends or family, you will sell tickets far and wide. We also hope that you will encourage your colleagues at work, or friends with whom you share leisure activities, to buy tickets as well.
The first prize is £1,000. It might have to be divided between 2 or 4 people in which case 2 people will receive £500 each, or 4 people will receive £250 each. There are 2nd and 3rd cash prizes too and there is also a prize of £100 for the person who sells the most books of tickets.
So mark 2nd October 2010 in your Diary now and make sure you don't leave it too late to buy your tickets. Watch for the posters which will appear shortly and make sure you read the next edition of the Tower when there will be a much fuller explanation of the event.
