Gardens open from 5.00 p.m
The Conservation Trust is delighted to invite you to buy tickets for ‘Pimms and Poems' at Millichope Park on Wednesday 14 July. By kind permission of Mr and Mrs Lindsay Bury, the gardens will be open from 5.00 p.m, and Pimms and canapés will be served in the hall from 6.00 p.m
"This promises to be a delightful evening, wandering through the gardens of the Park and enjoying the lovely interiors of the house", said Trustee, Julian Morgan. "Tickets cost £12.50 per person, are limited, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be entertainment in the Music Room, when Ian Barge and his colleagues from the Teme Players will read from a selection of poems. The programme also includes music and singing."
Millichope Park is at Munslow, SY7 9HA, just 8 miles North East of Craven Arms and 11 miles from Ludlow. Turn left off B4368 0.75 mile out of Munslow. There is plenty of parking.
Tickets (£12.50 per person) are available from St Laurence's Shop; The Wool Shop; Castle Bookshop; and the Visitor Information Centre.
Plans are under-way for a Gilbert and Sullivan ‘Sing-Along', to take place in St Laurence's Church on Saturday 4 September. Hugh Wood, who is both a member of the Ludlow Choral Society and a ‘Palmer', has very kindly agreed to organise this event, and has already approached an accompanist and a Master of Ceremonies!
"It seemed to me an excellent idea to make this a "come & sing" G&S night, rather than a ‘come and listen' one," said Hugh. "Most people are familiar with the tunes, and we will circulate the words of the better-known songs, for instance, "he polished up the handle so carefully that now he is the ruler of the Queen's Navee...."
Tickets cost £10.00, and will be available later in the year.
