Ministry

Ministry is at the heart of all we do as a church and as a family of parishes. So what is meant by this term ‘ministry'? It is simply showing the love of God to people. In this way, our ministry is based on Jesus Christ, for in his earthly life he showed God's love to the people he met, especially the sick, the downtrodden, the forgotten and the outcast.

So, everything we do is an expression of our ministry: maintaining our great church as a place where people can encounter God; our offering of worship, and the important role of music within that; the team of visitors who take Holy Communion to the sick and housebound; our support for those whose baptisms, weddings or funerals take place in church; our efforts to reach out to the community and bring them the message of God's love revealed in Christ.
