Visit St Laurence's, Ludlow

The Cathedral of the Marches

St Laurence's is one of the finest parish churches in England, accorded 5-star status by architectural historian, Simon Jenkins, in his book, "England's Thousand Best Churches". The tower dominates the Ludlow skyline, but whilst residents admire its splendour, not everyone knows the history of this ‘jewel in South Shropshire's crown', or is aware of its stunning architecture, monuments, misericords, stained glass and carvings.

A Guided Tour with Full Afternoon Tea takes place on Thursday 28 March 2019. Led by one or more of St Laurence's experienced guides, the tour starts at 2.00 pm, with tea served at 3.30. Covering the 14th century Porch, the North Aisle, Nave, St John's Chapel, Chancel, Lady Chapel and the South Aisle, the cost is £12.50 per person, inclusive of tour and tea.
