LUDLOW CONSERVATION WEEKEND
Saturday 21 May and Sunday 22 May

FLOWER FESTIVAL AND WEDDING DRESS DISPLAY IN ST LAURENCE'S
Saturday 21 May 10.00 - 5.00
Sunday 22 May 10.30 - 4.00

(NB Please note that the illustrated talks take place from 09.30 to 12.30 on Saturday,
and there will be Church services on Sunday morning)

A highlight of the Ludlow Conservation Weekend will be the Flower Festival and Wedding Dress Display in St Laurence's. Entry is £1.50, inclusive of re-admission, and children are free.

Local florists ‘Abundant Ludlow' , ‘Florabunda' and ‘Lavender Blue' will create and sponsor stunning displays in the High Chancel and St Mary's Chancel. They will be supported by Janette of ‘The Chocolate Gourmet', and gift shop, ‘As You Like It', who are also providing fantastic arrangements; and by flower arrangers from St Laurence's Church, St Mary Magdalen in Ashford Carbonell , St Giles Church in Ludford, and St Peter's in Stanton Lacy.

The Flower Festival will be magnificently augmented by a display of wedding and bridesmaids' dresses, all with provenance and accompanying photographs. There will be a beautiful couture wedding dress from 1916; one from 1930 and some from the 60s and 70s. Several of brides married in St. Laurence's Church, and local visitors might like to ‘name the bride.' The dresses will be displayed outside St. Catherine's Chancel, and will overflow into the chapel itself. This splendid exhibition spans a period of almost one hundred years!
